Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the United States and Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN as an SportsCenter News Anchor. She joined ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. She was hired as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009, she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. She covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking across both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she would fill in at times as a news and sport anchor. In 1992, the couple divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. The time of summer when she was with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered an employment. As a senior at high school, but with a clear idea what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta visited her local University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. Then, she fell in love with the university. The university offered her an academic major. Following the completion of her high school education, she enrolled in the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of the WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked over the years, became a friend. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence inspired her. She, in turn was determined to achieve his expectations and never let him down.
